Man, Bright is going to be one weird s*** movie, a buddy cop flick unlike anything we’ve seen for a while.

Set in an alternate present-day where humans co-exist with orcs, elves and fairies, Bright follows two cops — one is human (Will Smith), the other an orc (Joel Edgerton) — on a routine night patrol where they encounter, you know, strange things.

Judging from the 30-sec teaser released last night, we catch a glimpse of an ugly orc (looking a lot like Croc Killer) packing a 12-gauge shotgun; Noomi Rapace doing some trance as an elf; and a confused Smith with a medieval sword.

Okay, strange enough.

The movie is directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Day), so expect it to be gritty; it’s written by Max Landis (Chronicle, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency), so expect it to be a little odd as well.

We have a feeling this movie, which also stars Margaret Cho, Jay Hernandez and Edgar Ramirez, could be an unholy cross between Lethal Weapon and Lord of the Rings. We’ll find out when it premieres on Netflix in December.
