Remember when TVB star Nancy Wu was rumoured to be working as a delivery woman for extra cash due to the lack of acting jobs caused by the COVID-19 outbreak? While that turned out to be untrue, another actress recently revealed that she's actually taken on that job and she couldn't be happier.

With the pandemic bringing much of the entertainment industry to a standstill, Taiwanese actress Venus Huang (whose main claim to fame is apparently playing “scheming” characters in primetime dramas) claims that she has lost about 30 jobs since early February. She was introduced to the idea of delivering food as a side hustle by a production assistant, who claimed that she could earn as much as NT$40,000 to NT$50,000 (S$1,900 to S$2,400) a month if she did it seriously enough.

Venus thought it was worth looking into. “I already ride a bike regularly and it’s not difficult to sign up as a delivery staff,” she said. “I could start after just one day of training.”
