Here’s a little background info before we dive into things — Elva’s been teasing the release of her upcoming album Naked Truth since November 2019. To build hype, the singer announced that she would be releasing one song every month, up till the release of the full album in June. However, her plans were thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, Elva has only released two songs — one in December 2019, and the other in March this year.

Yesterday (Jun 9), Elva updated her Instagram followers on how she's been doing, only to receive a number of nasty comments from some self-proclaimed fans.

The first comment read: “[Your] selfless fans will always say that as long as you’re happy, they’re willing to wait [for you to release new music], but have you ever fulfilled your responsibility towards your fans?"

Subsequent comments also accused Elva of being a “has-been who keeps slacking off”, and “issuing fake cheques [to fans] and going back on your words”.

Angered, Elva replied to them in a series of comments left on the same post, asking them to "show some respect". The singer also explained that the producer in charge of her songs lives in America, which is why the releases were delayed. She also questioned these fans, asking if they were able to lend a hand in this situation. She then emphasised that the album will definitely meet the expectations of her fans, and hoped for their understanding.

But that’s not all. On the very same day, Elva made another three posts on her socials. This time, it was a series of short videos containing snippets of songs from ‘Naked Truth’, showing that she's anything but a slacker.
