It’s been half a year since Taiwanese-Canadian actor Godfrey Gao tragically passed away from a heart attack while filming Chinese variety program Chase Me.
But fans of the late actor have something to look forward to now that Godfrey’s posthumous project, We Are All Alone,is set to air soon.

According to reports, We Are All Alone is set in the world of entertainment and Godfrey plays a lawyer while Qin Lan, who starred as the Fucha Empress in Story of Yanxi Palace, is the head of an artiste management agency as well as Godfrey's love interest in the show.
The drama's trailer was released recently and has caused heated discussion among fans who feel conflicted about watching Godfrey’s final performance. Many of them want to watch the show but say they "can’t bear to". Those who have seen the trailer also say they “got so emotional that [they] cried”.

Godfrey’s official fan club has since promoted the drama on Weibo, writing: “When the dark of the quietness and bright warm colours intertwine. Be gentle with kindness, and return the light to a place with brightness. Even if he is silent, Mo Bei’s (the name of Godfrey’s character) life is still glorious.”
In response, the drama’s official Weibo page wrote: “Just like the magnolia, its branches are always fragrant, so is the proof of the existence of Mo Bei.”

In other related news, Godfrey’s second brother, Charles Gao, celebrated his birthday on May 5.
To commemorate the occasion, Charles posted a #throwback pic of him, Godfrey and their dad celebrating his birthday last year.
“I like to have my birthday party at home! Warm and peaceful! [On] 2019 5.5, I had the warmest one... Thanks everyone for all the greetings!” he wrote.
Besides wishing Charles a happy birthday, many fans commented that they “miss Godfrey again” and thanked him for sharing the never-before-seen pic. They also left him words of encouragement, saying that they’ll continue to support Godfrey and his family.
