The Highs & Lows Of The Golden Globes 2017

Jimmy Fallon flopped, Meryl Streep rocked and everything else in between.

The Highs & Lows Of The Golden Globes 2017

Dame Streep (a nickname courtesy of Viola Davis) took down Donald Trump without even mentioning his name in her blistering six-minute speech while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award. She criticised him for mocking a disabled reporter, likening the future POTUS to a performer, and a bad one at that. “Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose,” she said. She then ended her speech with a quote “the dear departed Princess Leia” said to her: “Take your broken heart, make it into art.” While the rest of Hollywood have lauded Meryl for her inspiring words, Donald Trump took to his Twitter to call the actress “overrated” and a “Hillary flunky”. Shocking.
