For some reason, the 12-year-old daughter of Taiwanese actress Zhang Ting has been on the receiving end of really nasty comments from netizens. The 50-year-old, who is married to actor Lin Rui Yang, had reportedly gone for IVF nine times before she conceived Angela and has mentioned in interviews how much she treasures and wants to protect her little girl.

Yet, photos of Angela on Zhang Ting’s social media platforms have been met with awful remarks from netizens who say that she “looks nothing like her mother”. There was one who even went as far as to say that Angela is “the ugliest celeb kid”, and that the actress should “call the IVF lab and ask if there was a mix-up”.

Seriously? What an awful, awful thing to say. 

The hate got so bad that Zhang Ting had to go on live stream to address the comments. “I hope that everyone can leave my daughter alone," said the exasperated star. "She’s a high-class, international and oriental beauty. Her eyes are very Chinese. She’s beautiful!”

Angela also decided to take on her haters personally and recorded a video for her mother to upload. “You guys need to stop discussing how I look like," the teen said. "I don’t rely on my physical appearance for a living anyway!”
