What would you do if you’re the kid of a famous celebrity and you harbour showbiz aspirations too? For the son of Taiwanese host Hsu Nai-Lin, it would be to keep your background a secret.

Nai-Lin’s eldest son Brian, 29, is now the “assistant host” of a Taiwanese variety show but his new job had been kept secret until a guest let slip the news. Brian, whose Chinese name is Hsu Ting Wei, had taken on the stage name ‘Hsu Xin Yang’ and the media who had attended the recording of the show were left clueless about his true identity. It was only when Taiwanese comedienne Xiao Tian Tian revealed that Brian’s father is one of Taiwan’s most famous hosts that everyone started to connect the dots.
