Star-studded birthday party for Yumiko Cheng’s daughter
The 4-year-old had a rainbow themed party filled with balloons and celebrity guests
Hong Kong singer Yumiko Cheng’s 4-year-old daughter, Avery Liang is the apple of many netizens' eyes, with nicknames such as the “cutest second-generation celebrity” tagged to the little girl. For her recent birthday party, Yumiko pulled out the stops to throw Avery a rainbow themed party fit for a queen.
The venue was filled with colourful balloons, and also featured a customised cake in the shape of a rainbow. Avery herself was dressed in a purple dress and wore a flower crown to complete the look.
However, what caught the attention of netizens were the many celebrity guests who had turned up to attend Avery’s party. Spotted in attendance were Avery’s three godmothers, Hong Kong singer-actresses Joey Yung, Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, as well as Hong Kong actor Oscar Leung, Hong Kong singer Kenny Kwan, Hong Kong singer-actress Emme Wong, Hong Kong actress Cherrie Ying and their respective families.
On Instagram, Yumiko posted up a number of photos of the party, along with a caption dedicated to Avery.
“Avery, happy birthday! I hope that in the future, you will be able to weather through all kinds of storms, to see the rainbow that will appear afterwards,” she wrote, before adding on later, “I think it’s really admirable to (agree to) attend a child’s birthday party, even when you don’t have any of your own! Really thankful to her godmothers, as well as uncles and aunties!”.
Charlene also commented, “You're one year older now. I hope you grow up well!”, while Gillian wrote, “Your godmother loves you”.
