I have read a lot of comments that are very encouraging to me. It’s nice to see people appreciating my music and my art and everything. I feel the winner is justified. Jarrell really put in a lot of effort [during the finals] and his song was pretty appealing to the audience. It’s upbeat and there’s dancing and he wrote his own lyrics. He put so much work into that song.

That’s pretty sporting of you. Were you hoping to win at all?
I don’t have the mentality of winning. I just want to sing the best I can on the stage that was provided for me. I’m not disappointed [by the results]. I’m glad that Jarrell won ’cos I felt that I have given this my all and I have performed my best. SPOP SING! is another step closer to what I want to achieve in my music career. I hope that people will hear the music that I produce one day.

What do you want to achieve in your music career?
I have plans to continue writing a lot of my own songs and possibly work on an EP or a single. I am still planning.

Part of your appeal is also your fashion sense. Ever thought of going into the fashion industry?
Fashion has always been a part of me. It’s something I like, but it’s not something I want to do as a career, like music. But I hope that I can bridge music and fashion together, and whatever stuff I wear would link to my music too!
