On February 13, aspiring Chinese idol Huang Zhibo was arrested for reportedly scamming people desperate for face masks in China. He had falsely offered face masks for sale via WeChat and when he received the payments — some 80,000 yuan (S$55,000) — he became uncontactable.

His arrest came after multiple reports were made against the former All For One contestant when he failed to turn up with the masks at the agreed meeting point.

On the same day, Zhibo’s former label, Yuehua Entertainment, released a statement announcing the termination of his trainee contract.
