SHINee’s Jonghyun remembered at Golden Disk Awards

The late singer received an award for his album, Poet | Artist, which was released posthumously

SHINee’s Jonghyun may have passed on in December 2017, but his music was celebrated at The 33rd Golden Disk Awards 2019, which was held on January 5 and 6.

On the second night of the show, artistes were celebrated for their achievements for their physical sales, and among the 10 bonsang (main prize) recipients was Jonghyun for his album, Poet | Artist, which was released posthumously.

Accepting the trophy on his behalf were fellow SHINee members Minho and Taemin, who thanked their fans, SHINee World, for “cheering us on and supporting us without fail”. Taemin added, “We hope that Jonghyun, who loved music and performing more than anyone else, will be remembered for a long time.”

A tribute video for Jonghyun was then played, which brought comfort to many as touching messages such as ‘Let it be a warm winter for you, me, and all of us’, along with ‘At any moment, in any world, you are forever our pride’, showed on the screen as photos of Jonghyun, many of which were taken by his fans, were flashed on screen.

The other nine recipients of the physical sales bonsang are EXO, BTS, MONSTA X, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, TWICE, Wanna One, NCT 127 and NU’EST W.
