Patty Hou Denies Report That She Got Paid S$3.1mil For Her Family To Appear On Reality Show
Patty Hou has come under intense public scrutiny after she and her mum appeared on a recent episode of reality show My Dearest Ladies. Her mother, actress Lin Yue Yun, has been criticised for her remarks related to Patty’s childhood. The Taiwanese host was born out of wedlock as her biological father was married to another woman at the time.

In particular, Yue Yun’s comment that they can “repent [our misdeeds without] explaining ourselves to others” struck a nerve with netizens, who feel that the mother-daughter pair are “glorifying extramarital affairs” and “unremorseful about [Yue Yun] being a home wrecker”. Netizens found another bone to pick with Patty after Chinese media reported that she was paid RMB 15mil (S$3.1mil) for her family to appear on My Dearest Ladies.
