Taiwanese singer-songwriter Christine Fan landed herself in hot soup in January when she blasted the Taiwanese government for temporarily halting the export of masks. Calling it a move that was made in “such poor taste”, she added that it was a “hooligan-like behaviour that displayed our lack of humanity”.
Her post, which was made on her private Facebook page, also included expletives directed at the Taiwanese government and soon became a trending topic. She deleted the post after it started gaining traction online, but you know what they say — what goes on the Internet stays on the Internet.
She was then shamed by netizens for not caring about her fellow Taiwanese, who were also scrambling for masks at the time.
