Hera Chan, the newly crowned Miss Chinese International 2019 winner, denied rumours of discord between herself and the other contestants at an event in Hong Kong on March 5.

Speculations that Hera was deliberately being snubbed were sparked when she was nowhere to be found in any of the group photos that were uploaded by the other girls after the competition ended. "I don't think there's such a thing going on," she said. "I did take lots of photos with them, but perhaps they just happened to not post those."

Second runner-up Gina Wu also faced her own share of drama when she uploaded several selfies on social media, only to delete them later. She clarified that it was not due to pressure from her company, but because she wanted to protect the privacy of her friend in the photos.
