Fans of the Mickey Huang and Summer Meng can breathe easy – less than a week after the pair had a tiff over their wedding plans, which led to speculation that the pair might have broken up, the couple has confirmed that they are engaged.
The comedian celebrated his 46th birthday on March 30 and had a gathering with his loved ones to mark the occasion. A group photo which emerged from the dinner that night instantly became the subject of much excitement, as Mickey was seen clutching Summer’s hand, and what looked like an engagement ring was spotted on her finger.
Following the news, Summer confirmed the news on her personal Facebook page yesterday (April 1). In her post, she wrote, “Thank you for your concern! My new drama debuted yesterday, and the project I worked hard on with everyone has finally been broadcasted. I hope you’ll continue supporting Single Ladies Senior until its last episode.”
“In addition, I’ve met the person whom I can spend my entire life with! I originally wanted to share this news with my family and friends, but was touched by the blessings that I received from everyone (after the news broke). Apart from walking towards an even better life (with him), I also hope to work on more good projects, and bring you an even better Summer Meng,” she continued. Summer’s post was also hashtagged with #ThankYouToEveryoneWhoGaveUsYourBlessings.
Fans have taken to the comments section to congratulate her on the good news, and many have asked about when they will be getting married. Neither she nor Mickey have directly addressed these questions, but his previous mention of wanting to get married in 2020 after seeking advice from fortune tellers has some fans guessing that there might be some time before the two become man and wife.
Mickey and Summer started dating in 2014 and have a 19-year age gap between them.
