Staying home to play games all day has long been regarded as unconstructive behaviour. But these days, it’s seen as being socially responsible what with governments urging people to stay home to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Among one of the most popular online games now is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with people from all over the world turning it into a way to keep in touch with friends (made possible with gamers being able to play with anyone in the world if they have Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions). Some have even turned it into a business opportunity as people fork out real cash to purchase items and in-game currency, known as bells, from other players.
The craze seems to have caught on with several celebs, like S.H.E members Selina Jen and Ella Chen casually mentioning on their social medias that they are into the seriously addictive game. Mayday’s Ashin, too, has revealed that he is hooked on Animal Crossing.
