Louis Koo splurges on S$8.74 million yacht for mum

The actor wanted his mother to have the best view of the fireworks from Victoria Harbour

How much are you willing to pay in order to get the best view when it comes to fireworks displays? For Hong Kong actor Louis Koo, that amount is HK$50 million (approximately S$8.74 million).

According to media reports, the 48-year-old recently splashed out that very amount to purchase a private yacht from England for his mother. Christened the ‘Princess 88’, the yacht measures 29 metres, and is three storeys high. Apart from an open-air lounge area, the yacht also has a enclosed bar area, as well as a below-deck lounge. With four fully-furnished bedrooms that are decked out in luxury brands, the yacht is said to be fit for a king.

It was reported that Louis, who is known for being filial, had purchased the luxury yacht so his mother, who likes to view fireworks displays, can get the best views from Victoria Harbour. Additionally, as Louis values his privacy, it is believed that the yacht can also serve as a private holiday home for the actor.

Louis is also known to be very close to his parents, and still lives with them. Previously, it was also reported that the 48-year-old wishes to live with them even after tying the knot. “There's no need for extra praise (just because we take care of our parents). When we were young, our parents took care of us, providing food, shelter and living expenses,” he once said.
