Canadian-born actress Linda Chung has released a new self-composed song, accompanied by a heartwarming music video featuring her family.

Titled ‘Mommy I Love You So’, the song was inspired by Linda’s two-year-old daughter, Kelly. “The composing of this song felt very natural. I was coaxing my daughter, who was nine months old then, to sleep one night. At the time, I suddenly felt like I couldn’t bear to be apart from her. I wanted to be able to stay on Earth a little longer, so that I could be with her every second,” Linda shared.

The lyrics for ‘Mommy I Love You So’ are very close to Linda’s heart, and she shared that she teared up while recording it.

“While I was patting her stomach to get her to sleep, the melody for the song just surfaced in my mind,” she continued. The 35-year-old added that she hopes for this song to be a representation of her unconditional love for both Kelly and her son, 10-month-old Jared.

As for the filming of the music video, Linda shared that even though her children do not understand the concept of shooting a music video, they were very obedient. As a result, filming went very smoothly.

As Linda often plays the song at home, Kelly immediately began singing along to the song when it was played on set.

Linda put in considerable effort into the video, meeting with the director many times to discuss ideas. As she had to take care of Kelly and Jared while on-set, the actress shared that she truly understands the pains of being a mother.

“Now that I’m a mother, I really understand the hard work that mothers put in, so I feel that every mum is a superwoman,” she said.

Linda tied the knot with Jeremy in February 2016 and welcomed their first child, Kelly, in August of the same year. Jared was born in September last year.
