Last Saturday (Apr 25), Linda took to her Instagram to apologise to Grace with this short and sweet caption: “ I want to sincerely apologise to Miss Grace Chow here, and to everyone who loves me as well, my apologies ~”.

Netizens took the 36-year-old’s apology as an admission of guilt, and lambasted Linda for her behaviour. Some of them also criticised Linda for “acting cute” even when apologising, noting the “~" symbol at the end of her caption.

“Acting cute even at the age of 36, how disgusting,” wrote a netizen.

Calling it an insincere apology, many netizens left comments attacking Linda’s response, with one chiming in with this comment: “Do you know what’s one similarity between this apology and your face? They’re both fake~”.

Soon after, Linda edited her caption to remove the symbol. But that did not stop the onslaught of hate from netizens, especially since the star had allegedly started deleting negative comments from her post.

“If you’re sincerely apologising, then you shouldn’t delete comments,” one netizen chided, while another questioned: “You're still deleting comments? Then what’s the point of apologising [in the first place]? Or are you just putting on an act?”

The next day, Grace responded to Linda’s apology with a post on her private Weibo account.

This time round, she saved herself the effort of penning a lengthy letter, choosing to respond with this cryptic emoji at the end of her post wishing everyone a good morning.

Looks like even Grace is tired of the endless speculation and mud-slinging.
