When 20th Century Fox released the first Deadpool 2 teaser in March, because the movie was still in production, there was zero footage in it — it was just the foul-mouthed superhero (presumably played by Ryan Reynolds — it’s hard to tell who’s who under the mask) clowning around to the tune of John Parr’s 1985 smash ‘St Elmo’s Fire’.
For the new two-minute teaser, there’s actual footage from the follow-up directed by John Wick and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch — just 10 seconds’ worth of material. Hey, it’s better than nothing.
To watch it, you have to first get past a faux art tutorial conducted by Deadpool himself (again, we’re pretty sure it’s Reynolds under the mask, and not some stunt person, while he's holed up in a cozy studio doing the voice-over).
The sequel also stars Josh Brolin as Cable, with TJ Miller, with Morena Baccarin and TJ Miller reprising their roles from the first movie. If you pay close attention: The cab driver, played by Poorna Jagannathan, is among the returning characters as well.
Warning: The teaser contains some salty language. Then again, you know that already, don’t you?
Deadpool 2 opens May 31.
