Yesterday was definitely a day to remember for the fans who attended the second day of HallyuPopFest, which was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The festival, which is held over three days (September 7, 8 and 9), will see 21 different acts take to the stage to perform for their adoring fans. Saturday saw a healthy mix of established K-Idols (think AOA, Eric Nam, EXID and Soyou), as well as first time visitors (ONF and SNUPER), and fan-favourites WANNA ONE, who performed at Friday’s evening concert as well.

Riding on the high note from Friday's concert, the event started off with a bang, with ONF hyping up the crowds with upbeat songs like ‘ON/OFF’ and ‘Complete’. The group, who celebrated their first debut anniversary last month, captured the hearts of the fans present, with their high-energy dance moves and matching sport jerseys.

Next up was SNUPER, who came prepared to shower everyone with their infectious energy. The group ran through a list of their hit songs including ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and ‘Platonic Love’. However, what got the fans screaming the loudest was definitely the moment when all members of the group headed off-stage during ‘Oh My Venus’ to get up-close and personal with their fans. Striding briskly through the standing sections, the boys made sure to hi-five and wave to everyone, much to the delight of the fans in the front row.

AOA then turned up the heat with tracks like ‘Excuse Me’, ‘Like A Cat’, and ‘Bingle Bangle’. The crowd erupted into loud cheers the moment the sextet appeared on stage, who had given the red carpet earlier today a miss. Their performance was swiftly followed up by host Eric Nam, who bantered easily with the crowd in fluent English in between songs like ‘Body' and ‘Into You’.

Then came EXID, who performed as five for the first time in Singapore (Ed’s note: Member Solji had taken an extended hiatus from the group after being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2016). The 29-year-old’s long awaited return to the stage was met with loud cheers and fervent support, with fans cheering rapturously every time she hit a high note while performing songs like ‘Up & Down’ and ‘DDD’.

The baton was then passed on to Soyou, who had a special surprise planned for her rendition of the ever-popular ‘Some’, which was originally performed by Soyou and Junggigo. As the opening notes of the song started playing, fans were thrilled to find Soyou’s labelmate, Jeong Sewoon, take the stage to serenade everyone with his smooth vocals. Sewoon had performed earlier at the afternoon showcase, but made a special (and unannounced) appearance at the evening concert. Soyou’s set had a good mix of both solo songs like ‘I Miss You’, which was an OST for the popular drama, Goblin, as well as SISTAR songs like ‘I Swear’ and ‘Touch My Body’.

The final act of the night was WANNA ONE, who had the crowd singing along to ‘Boomerang’, ‘I’ll Remember’, ‘Light' and more. Dressed in matching red outfits, the group ran through their dance-heavy tunes without missing a beat, accompanied by the loud cheers of their fans.
