Participating in the
fifth season of popular Chinese reality TV show, Where Are We Going, Dad?, with his son, 4-year-old Jasper, is probably one of the best work decisions Jordan Chan has made as it helped open up more work opportunities for the well-loved duo.

According to Hong Kong media reports, the family of three, including Jordan’s wife, Hong Kong actress Cherrie Ying, became household names after Jasper’s sweet and understanding personality on the show captured the hearts of fans.

While Jordan and Jasper are no longer on the series, the family was said to command bigger paychecks after the show aired.

The 51-year-old actor previously charged RMB300,000 (approximately S$62,537) for an appearance on a Taiwanese Chinese New Year programme with fellow actors, Ekin Cheng, Michael Tse, Chin Ka Lok and Jerry Lamb. Now, he is reported to be charging five times more, and is said to have quoted a rate of RMB1.5 million (approximately S$312,800) when he was invited for the same show last year, causing producers to withdraw their offer as they could not afford his rates.

Besides that, the family of three were also noted to have moved into a new house, which costed them more than NT$100 million (approximately S$4.5 million).Photo: PBE MediaRelated:
