Jolin Tsai has no “timetable” when it comes to love

Taiwanese pop queen Jolin Tsai has declared that she doesn’t have “a timetable” when it comes to tying the knot, after she was probed about the matter at a charity event in Taipei yesterday (Aug 12).

“Just because other people are doing something, doesn’t mean I have to do the same thing as well,” she said, responding to a question on whether she would love to settle down and start a family soon, following news of Lin Chi-ling’s flash marriage in June.

The 38-year-old continued, “Some people make plans for every stage of their life, and I admire those who can do that, but I never know what my own future holds. I just want to live in the present.”

“What’s more, when it comes to matters of the heart, things can change very quickly and it can’t be controlled,” she added. “I also don’t want to simply pick out any random person just so I can reach a goal [of getting married by a certain time].”

When asked what she looks for in a partner, Jolin said, “I have to see how I feel around that person, whether I’m attracted to him or not.”

The singer was previously in a high-profile relationship with model Vivian Dawson, whom she broke up with in 2016 after six years of dating. However, the former couple parted ways on an amicable note and have remained friends.
