Joe Chen posts tribute to Kimi Qiao
The singer took his own life two years ago
September 16 2018 marks the second death anniversary of Chinese singer-actor Kimi Qiao (Qiao Renliang), who passed away in an apparent suicide two years ago. Kimi’s company later confirmed that the actor had been suffering from chronic depression.
On Sunday (September 16), Taiwanese actress-singer Joe Chen posted up a picture of a sunset on her Weibo account, along with an angel emoji. The post is believed to be in tribute to Kimi, as the actress-singer had once written about the ‘pink paradise’ that Kimi had wanted to go to.
“[Hope] you’re doing well in [your] pink paradise, my friend. I hope you’ve finally found peace, we’ll meet once again at the very end,” Joe wrote.
In a previous interview, Joe had shared that Kimi was the first friend she had made when she started out in the Chinese entertainment industry. At Kimi’s funeral, Joe was unable to control her emotions, and had to be supported by her friends. Last year, the 39-year-old also set up a memorial statue for Kimi during his memorial service.
