Homegrown singer JJ Lin held a one-night-only concert at the National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur as part of his Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour on December 7.
During the concert, JJ bantered easily with the crowd, joking about the traffic jam he had been caught in a few days earlier.
“Kuala Lumpur really is the traffic jam capital of the world,” he laughed, adding that he was surprised that there was a jam even at midnight.
He also reminisced about his days at a rookie singer, when his record company sent him on a tour of Malaysia to promote his album.
As he had travelled by car during the tour, which took him to various Malaysian states, JJ shared that he made many precious memories and is reminded of the good times he had there during every visit to Malaysia.
Buoyed by the cheers of the audience, JJ then went on to declare that he hopes to continue singing for everyone even when he becomes old and wrinkled.
After singing a string of ballads, however, JJ became a little more melancholic, musing, “Perhaps there might be some obstacles in your way as you continue on your path. You’ll feel like giving up because you’re having a hard time, you’re lonely and you might feel wronged or that your heart is broken.”
He then went on to encourage everyone, saying that he believes that all obstacles can be overcome, and that the trials and tribulations that we go through are just a way for everyone to become a better version of themselves.
JJ Lin Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour in Singapore will be held on December 21 and 22 at the National Stadium. Limited tickets priced from S$148 are available on SportsHubTix.
