He’s worth an estimated NT$5bil (S$228mil) and she’s worth possibly half of that (since he didn’t sign a prenup, heh) but that doesn’t mean they are above flying budget. Jay Chou and his wife Hannah Quinlivan, who’s now pregnant with their second kid, are holidaying in Europe and they were recently spotted by a fan taking a Vueling airline flight (scroll down for pic). Vueling, for the uninitiated, is a Spanish low-cost airline. You would think that everyone would be praising Jay for being frugal, or at least pragmatic. But as it turns out, you can’t win over everyone.
Some netizens are perturbed as to why Jay, given his considerable wealth, decided to fly budget, “There were six, seven other airlines he could have picked,” said the fan who spotted them. Um, seriously.
We don’t get the issue here. A person’s wealth does not and should not dictate what type of flight he chooses to take. Now, if Jay had insisted on getting a free meal onboard, that would be a different story. So really, the next time your friend balks at flying budget, show them this article. ‘Cos if it’s good enough for Jay Chou, it’s good enough for all of us.
