Jay Chou to cause a commotion wherever he goes.

A day before Halloween (Oct 30), the multi-hyphenate revealed on Instagram that he’d be joining in the yearly Halloween festivities in Shibuya and was going to go to the street party dressed as Kato from The Green Hornet.

The singer happily invited everyone to ‘say hi’ if they saw him on the streets, writing, “Tomorrow, I’m gonna dress up as Kato. If you see me on the streets. (sic) please come say hi.”

And that was what fans did when they saw Jay in the flesh, walking along the streets of Shibuya, yesterday.

At around 9.30pm, Jay made an appearance in Kato’s signature beret and all-black outfit. He wore a mask that partially hid his face and was surrounded by bodyguards and his good friends.

Fans were sent into a tizzy when they caught sight of him and he soon found himself surrounded by Halloween revellers and tourists alike. The situation turned chaotic as fans screamed for Jay and people shoved around, hoping to get closer to him.

When Jay posted a video of his walk in Shibuya, some fans lamented about leaving the party early while others questioned his purpose in revealing his itinerary.

Whatever it is, Jay seemed to have enjoyed his little night out in Tokyo. He posted a video of the commotion in Shibuya later, and wrote, “What a crazy night! As promised, Kato on the streets,” along with the hashtags #kato is coming and #Happyhalloween.
