Jay Chou reveals title of upcoming musical release

After a hiatus of over a year, Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou is finally releasing a new song, which will make its debut on September 16.

Ahead of the track's release, Jay has been busy dropping little teasers to get fans excited. Yesterday (Sep 10), the 40-year-old took to his Instagram to share the title of the song, which is ‘Won't Cry’.

“I only can say that if you don’t manage to catch the premiere of the song, you’ll cry! It’s just like watching a basketball match where someone has already spoiled the results for you. Then, you’ll complain, ‘Why didn’t you tell me earlier to catch the premiere’, and I’ll reply, ‘Well, I already told you so’,” the singer wrote in his caption.

Jay’s post quickly garnered a large amount of likes from his fans, who couldn’t help but to share their excitement for the new song. His post soon shot up the search rankings on Weibo, with over 1.6 million searches for his name within the first hour of his post. A number of Jay’s celebrity friends, such as Mayday’s Ashin and Masa, also chimed in to add to the anticipation.

It is understood that Jay will be kicking off his 20th anniversary concert in October this year, and will even be performing in Hong Kong Disneyland at the end of the year. The release of his new song is expected to drum up anticipation for his upcoming concert tour as well.
