Jacqueline Wong to be cut out entirely from upcoming drama

With Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong currently “on leave” from work as she waits out the backlash from her cheating scandal with married Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Hui, the actress’s employer, broadcasting company TVB has confirmed that they will be editing her out of upcoming drama, Forensic Heroes IV.

Jacqueline plays the third female lead in the drama series, which is scheduled to air in both Hong Kong and China in November. As China’s censors frown upon the inclusion of celebrities that “do not impart the correct social values” in their entertainment programmes, TVB has decided to edit out Jacqueline's scenes, and reshoot parts of Forensic Heroes IV in order for it to be broadcasted in China.

According to reports, over a third of the drama’s episodes has been affected, and will need to be filmed again. The affected artistes, which include Hong Kong actors Raymond Wong, Shawn Tam and Selena Lee, have been notified, and a new filming schedule has been set.

Filming is expected to commence next month, although the actress who will be replacing Jacqueline has yet to be confirmed.

The producer for Forensic Heroes IV, Mui Siu-ching shared that the crew had debated between a number of alternatives, including digitally editing Jacqueline’s face to that of another actress. However, as there will still be minor discrepancies, they eventually settled on reshooting the affected episodes.

As parts of the drama was filmed in Taiwan, costs for the reshoot are expected to total over HK$10 million (approximately S$1.73 million).
