Talk of Hong Kong actress Cherrie Ying being pregnant circulated the internet in December, when photos of the 36-year-old’s fuller figure were uploaded online. This news came as no surprise as she had previously shared that she is determined to have a second child, a sentiment that her husband, Jordan Chan, echoed.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, have one child, four-year-old Jasper, and have shared that they hope to add a girl to their brood.
The family of three, who is currently holidaying in the Maldives, have shared vacation photos on their respective social media platforms. Cherrie first posted a series of photos of herself and Jordan swinging Jasper between them, wishing her followers a happy year ahead.
Jordan’s post, however, was the one which caught the attention of netizens as he uploaded a snap of Cherrie and Jasper on a yacht with the caption, “My My My”. This caused a flurry of comments such as, “There are only two people in the photo, but you wrote ‘My’ thrice. We’ll be waiting for you to announce the good news soon!” and “Is your third ‘My’ hidden from view? We’ll see him or her in nine months!”
While Cherrie is believed to be in the first or second trimester of her pregnancy, she has still been taking on jobs as per usual. Neither Cherrie nor Jordan have directly addressed the rumours, which netizens pointed out could be in accordance with traditional Chinese beliefs that announcing news of a pregnancy within the first three months of conception is bad luck.
