Christmas wasn’t the only highlight on our social media feed this past week. We also had birthdays and anniversaries that made us realise how quickly time flies, a couple of complaints against poor service, some extremely cute babies, and more.

Another early birthday celebration for Carrie Wong
Carrie’s 25th birthday isn’t until January 1 (yup, she’s a New Year’s Day baby), but she’s already been enjoying a number of advanced celebrations, including one at the photo shoot of a fashion brand, for which she and Romeo Tan have just been appointed as new ambassadors.

It’s a wrap for ‘Hello From The Other Side’!
After months of hard work learning how to make coffee, learning how to dance, and filming stunt scenes, shooting for upcoming Channel 8 fantasy drama Hello From The Other Side has finally come to an end, and everyone looks absolutely thrilled. Let’s hope they all get to enjoy a well-deserved New Year break.

Jet Li shares a rare photo of his girls
The martial arts star, who’s known to be very protective of his family, wished his Instagram followers a Merry Christmas with a picture of himself with his two teenage daughters, Jane and Jada, who are clearly blossoming into beautiful young women. Jet is looking great too!

Quan Yifong reunites with Eleanor Lee
Awww, it looks like the mother-daughter pair will get to spend the last few days of 2018 together in China, where Eleanor is studying at the Beijing Film Academy. “Long time no see”, Yifong wrote next to a picture of her and her not-so-little girl standing outside the school, adding that her visit is half holiday, half grabbing the opportunity to send Eleanor to her classes every day. So sweet!

Michelle Chong catches up with Lawrence Wong
The pals finally found time in the midst of their busy schedules to have a proper catch-up on Christmas Day - two years after their last hangout together. According to Michelle’s caption, Lawrence is “still as handsome as ever”, but “his Chinese is now super good”. Well, makes sense, considering the Story of Yanxi Palace actor has been making a name for himself in the Middle Kingdom.

A happening Christmas at the Wangs’
Wang Leehom and his wife Lee Jinglei had an extra Christmas gift to prepare this year: for their son Jiayao, who was born in August. Also, how cute does Leehom look dressed as an elf? We’re loving Jiali’s and Jiana’s very festive-looking dresses too.
After the kids had presumably been put to bed, mum and dad invited a bunch of their famous friends over for some wine and music. A few familiar faces we spotted are Alyssa Chia and Xiu Jie Kai, Vanness Wu, Janet Hsieh and George Young, Christine Fan and Blackie Chen, and more.

Yvonne Lim’s son turns 4
Time sure flies: we can’t believe AJ is already 4 years old. To celebrate, his parents picked him up earlier from school so they could spend more time “doing what makes him happy” (which included DIY-ing a dinosaur cake with printed decorations). “Saves money and energy!” Yvonne chuckled in her caption. Ingenious.

Felicia Chin's maternal grandmother passes away
The actress bid a final farewell to her maternal grandmother on Saturday, just two months after losing her paternal grandmother. "Hold on to your loved ones. Spend time with them. I am still learning", Felicia wrote. "I believe that you are now in heaven. One day, we will meet again."

Cavin Soh celebrates 9th wedding anniversary
Talk about a wedding anniversary date that’s super easy to remember. “Boxing Day to many is also known as 2nd Christmas Day. 9 years ago,we exchanged our vows and became ONE. 9 years later we became FOUR! Thank you for being there with me always. Thank you for putting me before you always. Thank you for loving who I am always. I love you always. (sic)” Congratulations, Cavin and missus!

Gaile Lok reveals baby’s nickname
Leave it to the model to make a regular shot look like a maternity wellness magazine cover. Gaile shared that her unborn child’s new nickname is “Tinky Winky” (as in the purple Teletubby, we reckon), but uh, why is she wearing the colour of Po instead?

Gillian Chung reveals wedding gown deets
If any brides-to-be out there have been wondering where the newly wedded singer-actress got all her stunning dresses (the feathered and sequined one is a personal favourite of ours), she posted her thanks to a stylist and a Chinese bridal house called Monarca Couture on Instagram on Christmas Eve.

#BabyQiSnaps is on a roll
Joanne Peh shared two photos taken by her three-year-old daughter this week during their family holiday in Japan (one on her own page and one on the account she started for the budding photographer, @babyqisnaps). The first was a lovely shot of her and husband Qi Yuwu having a quiet Christmas Eve dinner, and the other was of Joanne posing with a bunch of reindeer-shaped logs.

Myolie Wu celebrates 3rd anniversary
Three years ago on December 28, the Hong Kong actress and her businessman hubby Philip Lee became man and wife. “Haven’t stopped smiling like a fool for three years now”, wrote Philip on Instagram next to an adorable photo of him doing said action of “smiling like a fool”. Myolie, on the other hand, thanked him for “being my rock, my mentor in life, my problem solver, my entertainer, the father of my child and my lifetime partner”. Happy anniversary to Brendan’s parents!

Despite being aged 37 and 39 respectively, clearly very youthful-looking couple Jeremy and Jesseca still got asked for ID when they went to watch an NC-16 rated movie together. Needless to say, it made Jeremy’s day (it would make ours too).

Joey Swee gushes about her three sons
The former actress and her family have been enjoying a wintery Christmas in South Korea, but she didn’t forget to take some time to gush about her boys, whom she dubbed “my greatest achievement in my life” (awww). “Motherhood is the most terrible [rollercoaster experience I] ever had but everything is worth it”, she wrote.
Besides that, she also shared her wish for her sons to “be handsome, smart, successful, love me, find a good wife and have many children”. Erm, at ages 4, 9 and 12, she might have to wait a while before the latter two happen.

Sheila Sim rants about SingPost’s inefficient service
According the model-turned-actress, she had ordered two books from Taiwan for her grandmother on November 22, over a month before Christmas, but on Boxing Day (December 26), the parcel was still nowhere to be found. Fed up with the poor service even after contacting SingPost several times, she decided to air her grievances on social media in the hopes that it would catch their attention better.
Sheila’s not the only one affected by this. Many of her followers also left comments and messages sharing about their similar experiences. Time to buck up, SingPost!

Paige Chua, Zong Zijie work out while working
“Just [Paige Chua] and [I] making some gains on set”, wrote Zijie on a video of him and his co-star pumping iron on what we presume is the set of their upcoming drama The Good Fight. The actor also shared a wince-inducing shot of his rough, calloused hands, a.k.a. “signs of hard work”. Achieving that bod of his sure doesn’t come easy.

Bryan Wong teases directorial debut
The actor’s first project as a director, producer and scriptwriter is slowly but surely taking shape. Earlier this week, he announced his main cast (Sheila Sim, Roy Li, Lina Ng and Ayden Sng) and revealed that the imaging session, script read and location-scouting have all been done, and that the theme song is already being worked on as well.
Sheila also shared her thoughts on being involved in the production, and revealed that she will be trying out many new things. All the best to everyone!

Addy Lee laments about cosmetic surgery gone wrong
The celebrity hairstylist, who also manages second-gen starlets like Tay Ying and Chantalle Ng, posted a couple of graphic selfies on Instagram to warn his followers about South Korea’s ITEM plastic surgery clinic and its “irresponsible” Singapore consultant. According to his captions, all four of his operations were failures, and he ended up with eyelids that were droopier than before.
Yikes. We wish him a speedy recovery, and that something can be done about the botched job.
