Insta-buzz: a shattering week for friends of Aloysius Pang

It’s been a dark week for local showbiz. Since news of Aloysius Pang’s reservist accident on January 19 in New Zealand, there has been an outpour of love and support for the 28-year-old actor from his friends, fans, and fellow artistes on their respective social media accounts.

The messages began as hopeful well-wishes that he would recover and declarations that they would see him soon. Sadly, the night after the first update that he was “in a stable condition”, things took a turn for the worse, and more prayers and positive vibes were sent his way.

On January 23 at 8.45pm, Aloysius succumbed to his injuries and passed away at Waikato Hospital.

The endless tributes that have been popping up all over our feeds following his death show that, despite repeatedly calling himself a “loner” in the past, Aloysius was beloved by many and had a very special place in their hearts, whether they were close or not. We at Toggle also remember Aloysius the way many others have described him: polite, professional, humble, and just a very likeable young man.
