Taiwanese model-actress Lin Chiling and her Japanese popstar husband Akira embraced the bride's roots for their wedding yesterday (Nov 17), when they walked down the aisle at the Tainan Art Museum. The couple had registered their marriage earlier this June.

In celebration, the mayor of Tainan, which is the the hometown of the 44-year-old Chiling's dad, gifted Akira, 38, and his family with traditional Taiwanese marriage items, such as oil, salt, firewood, vinegar and tea. The couple was also presented with silk bed sheets, pillow cases, dried longan and longan honey, to wish them luck in starting a family.
