Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan often share photos of their happy family of four online, which has allowed their fans to watch the couple’s kids Hathaway, 4, and Romeo, 2, grow up before their eyes.
The star became a mother at 21, and admitted that there was a lot that she had to get used to in a moving dedication posted on Weibo on Mother’s Day.
She started off her post with, “This is the fourth Mother’s Day I’ll be celebrating. I wanted to share my thoughts on this day. Although I’ve gotten used to my role as a mother, it’s also taught me that I’m not strong enough. There are times where I get flustered when looking after them, and other times when I don’t know what to do when they’re crying. I love my family. I love my kids, and I love their dad, which is why I’m working hard to be a good mother. I’m grateful that my children are adorable and sensible, which has given this immature mother even more strength and confidence.”
Admitting that she rarely shares her inner thoughts because she wants to keep it cool, she also took the opportunity to thank Jay for the sleepless nights he’s had while looking after their children.
“I love to sleep. Once I fall asleep, it’s like I’m separated entirely from the world that we live in, so there were many nights when their dad had to sacrifice himself,” she shared. “I want to take this opportunity to thank my family, and my two children who are very much like angels.”
She ended her post with a declaration that she will work harder to become a better and stronger mother, and sent her well-wishes to mothers everywhere around the world.
