Former TVB actress Gigi Lai is ageing gracefully

Former actress Gigi Lai stepped out of the spotlight in 2008 to focus on her family, as well running her brother’s business. Known as the ‘Goddess of Beauty’, Gigi’s good looks and youthfulness has often been lauded by the public. Whenever the actress updates her Weibo with pictures of herself, comments pour in from fans and netizens alike.

The former actress recently posted pictures of her 47th birthday celebration with her husband and friends on her Weibo, writing, “Thankful for my husband and good friends, who I had an enjoyable evening with.”

In one of the pictures, the 47-year-old posed with her husband, clutching a large bouquet of flowers. In another, the former actress posed with her birthday cake and flowers, grinning widely.

Netizens were surprised to see the appearance of crows feet at the corners of Gigi’s eyes, lamenting that even “their goddess has fallen prey to the passing of time”.

In 2008, Gigi decided to retire from the entertainment industry to look after her brother, Stephen, who was involved in a serious car accident in 2007, leaving him in a coma for three months, as well as to take over his dermatology centre.

Gigi and her businessman husband, Patrick Ma tied the knot in 2008, after dating in secret for 8 years. The pair welcomed twin daughters, Pricia and Gianna in 2010, and a third daughter, Pegella in 2012.
