The fascination with celeb kids never ends. This time around, it’s Malaysian-born, Taiwan-based singer Gary Chaw’s 12-year-old son Joe, whose recent photo has turned him into a trending topic on Weibo.
Gary and Joel just hanging out
It's not like Gary keeps Joe away from the spotlight. The singer often uploads photos of his family on his social media accounts, and in 2014, he took part in reality show Where Are We Going, Dad? with Joe and daughter Grace.
It's why nobody expected that this photo of Joe (see below) would go absolutely viral on Weibo.
To be honest, we thought the attention would be on Gary, who looked cool as a cucumber while driving, but netizens were clearly more interested in his son.
“He’s so handsome. Even with his fringe covering his face like that, he’s such a good-looker. Why are there no 12-year-olds around me like that?” wrote one netizen, while another said, “Hi Joe, I’m single! It’s time for you to start dating!”
It's all a little creepy especially given that the boy is just 12.
The pic of Gary and Joe that has gone viral
Other netizens pleaded with Gary to bring Joe for a haircut “so that we can see his handsome face”.
All this internet talk has skyrocketed Joe to the top of the Weibo's trending topics, with a staggering 300 million people (and counting) mentioning him on their feeds since November 30.
So what else are they saying about the kid? Here's one example. “He’s 160cm when he’s only 12. He’s going to be taller than me in a year, and I’m 169cm tall! But it’s okay, I like my guys on the taller side,” wrote one netizen.
Um, did she forget that he's still very much a minor?
