Former FTISLAND member Choi Jong Hoon accused of date rape

Former FTISLAND member Choi Jong Hoon made headlines for the wrong reasons last month when he was revealed to have covered up a drink driving incident in 2016. After this went public, the 29-year-old announced his retirement from showbiz.

Earlier this week, however, he resurfaced from ‘retirement’ and admitted that he shared explicit photos and videos in a group chat on instant messaging platform KakaoTalk. This group chat included both celebrities and non-celebrities.

Fellow celebrities Roy Kim and Eddy Kim also admitted to being part of these group chats. Former BIGBANG member Seungri is also believed to be involved in these chats.

Investigations revealed that Jong Hoon had circulated a video of himself performing sexual acts with another person, which he filmed without the other party’s consent. He also shared explicit content he found on the Internet.

On April 11, another damning report emerged, this time accusing Jong Hoon of date rape. A woman alleges that in 2012, she was given a cocktail by him and she lost consciousness after consuming it.

The woman, who has not been named to protect her identity, further claims that she believes that after drugging her with date rape drugs, he proceeded to rape her while she was unconscious. She is in the midst of filing a lawsuit against him.
