The 13-year-old daughter of Chinese singer Faye Wong and her ex-husband, Chinese actor Li Yapeng has been making the news of late, with the young teen’s social media updates (and baller ways) being reported on in tabloids.

In order to protect their daughter from the media, the ex-couple decided to send Li Yan to further her studies in Switzerland.

Although Li Yan only started attending the school earlier this month, eagle-eyed netizens have already spotted a picture of her on the school’s website. In the picture, Li Yan, who’s wearing the school’s uniform, can be seen with a number of fellow students, grinning from ear-to-ear.

Li Yan is believed to be attending Collège Alpin Beau Soleil, one of the oldest private boarding schools in Switzerland. Annual school fees, which includes tuition and boarding, cost 108,000 Swiss Francs (approximately S$150,000). There are also additional fees that are said to be mandatory for every student, including 20,000 Swiss Francs (approximately S$28,000) for “sport, expeditions, cultural and academic activity expenses”. The uniforms alone are also reported to cost 6000 Swiss Francs (approximately S$8353).

The boarding school has been ranked among the most expensive schools in the world as well, with only 250 students accepted yearly. As the total number of students from a single country cannot be over 10% of the total students enrolled at any single time, admission is said to be very competitive. The school counts the Duke of Luxembourg, Princess Gillam and Princess Mary of Denmark among their alumni.
