The youngest daughter of Faye Wong is slowly but surely fulfilling her dreams of becoming a model.
After conquering the fashion runways of Paris for a children’s label last year, 12-year-old Li Yan has found her way to the covers of China’s InStyle magazine.
Li Yan was dressed in a variety of outfits for the fashion spread and displayed the same quiet confidence that her mother has been known for in the cover picture. She appeared at ease before the cameras and wore a slight smile on her face.
When her father Li Yapeng was interviewed in September this year about his thoughts of Li Yan’s showbiz dreams, the Chinese actor shared that he respects his daughter’s wishes and clarified that she walked the runway for charity.
“It has nothing to do with whether she intends to join showbiz or not,” he added.
Li Yan, who made news recently for her high spending ways, was born with a cogenital cleft-lip (birth defects where a baby’s lip or mouth do not form properly during pregnancy) and received surgery for it in the United States when she was younger. Her parents, Faye and Li Yapeng who are now divorced, have set up a charity organisation ‘Smile Angel Foundation’ to help children born with cleft lips.
