Here’s one collaboration we never thought we'd ever see: Chinese pop diva Faye Wong and Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma teaming up to sing a duet during a Taobao karaoke live broadcast. We know it sounds like a sentence that was generated in a Mad Libs game, but it really did happen.

Of course, Faye’s appearance alone would have caused a stir. After all, the 51-year-old has drastically cut down on public performances in recent years, with her last one being Alibaba’s Believe in the Future virtual charity concert in May, which took place two years after her rare TV stint on reality show PhantaCity.

Besides her duet with Jack, Faye covered three other songs, namely Sandy Lam’s ‘Rainy Day’, Liu Haolin’s ‘Landing Guy’, and Zhou Yanhong’s ‘Si Ren Gong Yuan’ (which directly translates to ‘Private Park’). According to Faye, these are some of her go-to tracks during her own karaoke sessions (guess she didn’t want to sing her own songs this time).
