Hong Kong media outlets have reported that singer-actor William Chan has been suffering from insomnia for a month after witnessing Taiwanese actor-model Godfrey Gao collapsing and subsequently passing away while filming Chinese variety show, Chase Me, on November 27.

Pictures posted by the audience who were present at the filming of Chase Me showed William and fellow guest star, Taiwanese singer-actor Calvin Chen standing near Godfrey with their hand clasped in prayer while medical staff attended to the 35-year-old after his collapse.

William also accompanied Godfrey to the hospital in the ambulance shortly after.

Since then, William has not appeared in public. It was previously reported that he had decided to cancel his scheduled appearance on the new year concert organised by Chase Me’s broadcasting company, Zhejiang TV, following Godfrey’s passing.

However, his manager has since denied the reports.

William had also posted online that he “wished to turn back time and stop everything from happening”,  in the days after the incident. Now, coupled with reports that the 34-year-old is suffering from insomnia, fans have shared that they are worried for William's mental health.
