Fan club buys 921 copies of Ivy Shao’s debut album
The actress hopes to take on a period drama after her upcoming concert
Ivy Shao attended an event for fashion brand MCM in Taipei on June 1, where she shared her thoughts on venturing into music from acting.
The actress admitted that she was nervous about accepting interviews alone, as whenever she promoted dramas in the past, she would usually be accompanied by her co-stars. “I feel too shy to promote myself!” she said.
Despite her anxiety, Ivy has enjoyed successful sales of her debut album, with one Hong Kong fan club reportedly purchasing a whopping 921 copies. Because of this overwhelming support, she said she feels an even bigger responsibility to put on a better show at her upcoming concert.
After the showcase is done and dusted, Ivy will return to focusing on her acting career. “I really hope to do a period drama next,” she shared, adding that she will let nature take its course when it comes to love as she wants to concentrate on her career for now.
When asked about inviting her rumoured boyfriend Chris Wu to star in her music video, Ivy casually tackled the subject and replied, “He is such an in-demand actor right now, it was just another job for him.”
