Fan Bingbing, Li Chen’s relationship still going strong

It’s been a turbulent year for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, who was first rumoured to be involved in a tax evasion scandal and later disappearing for months. She only surfaced in October after news of her being slapped with a S$95 million fine for tax evasion was reported.

During the course of the scandal, various rumours about the actress circulated the internet, but one of the most heavily scrutinised aspects of Bingbing’s life was her relationship with fellow actor Li Chen. Eagle-eyed netizens also noticed that Li Chen’s ring, which he has always worn to mark his relationship with Bingbing, was missing from his finger during a video interview, adding fuel to the fire.

However, it seems that all is well between the couple as news emerged that the couple spent his birthday together on November 24. Although neither of them posted photos of themselves celebrating his 40th birthday, a mutual friend shared that Bingbing posted a photo of herself at his birthday bash, captioning it with, “Everything is worth it. Happy birthday.”

In response, Li Chen reportedly responded with, “Everything is worth it.” He was previously said to have written, “No matter how difficult things get, we’ll tide through it together,” when rumours of their breakup first emerged, with their mutual friends all sharing that the couple’s relationship is stronger than ever.

The power couple was previously rumoured to be getting married in 2018, but reports have stated that they have postponed their big day in light of the tax evasion scandal.
