Vocalist D.O. will not be joining the band when they go on tour

EXO announce fifth concert tour, enlistment updates

It’s been a bittersweet day for EXO-L (as EXO’s fans are collectively called).

First, EXO's label SM Entertainment confirmed that member D.O. will be enlisting for his mandatory military service on July 1. He will be the second member to do so after the eldest member, Xiumin, entered the army on May 7.

Shortly after, the company announced that EXO will be kick-starting their fifth world tour, EXO PLANET #5 –EXplOration-, during that same month. Set to take place over two weekends, there will be six shows, one each on July 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 in Seoul. Unfortunately, this means that D.O. will not be able to participate in the new tour.

The super-group wrapped up their previous tour, EXO PLANET 4 – The EℓyXiOn, last August in Macau, and fans have been eagerly anticipating when they will be starting their next tour.

Another question that EXO-L have on their minds is how many members will be present for their upcoming tour, as the poster that has been released has not made mention of who will be taking the stage. The currently active members are Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun. However, Lay has been largely concentrating on his solo activities for the past few years, and SM has not mentioned if he will stand on stage with his team this time around.

EXO’s latest tour is expected to be their best so far as the group recently celebrated their seventh debut anniversary, and industry watchers believe that they will release an album before kick-starting their tour.
