Ethan Ruan romantically linked to Chinese actress 16 years younger than him

There must be something in the air with May-December romances – soon after Elva Hsiao went public with her boyfriend, who is 16 years younger than her, Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan became linked to Chinese actress Song Zu Er, who is – very coincidentally – 16 years younger than he is.

Ethan ended his eight-year romance with fellow Taiwanese star Tiffany Hsu back in 2015, and has since denied all relationship rumours with other women as he declared that he would be focusing on his career instead.

That might have changed in recent months as he was spotted out on a date with 21-year-old Song Zu Er (also known as Lareina Song), whom he met while filming Chinese drama Cupid’s Kitchen.

On August 26, the couple was seen roaming the streets with masks on. Ethan was also carrying a white dog, which eagle-eyed netizens noted has previously appeared on Zu Er’s Weibo feed.

Both Ethan and Zu Er have not commented on the latest round of rumours, which has led to speculation that they might be trying to drum up publicity for the drama instead.
