Ella Chen tickles netizens with relatable mistake
The couple’s conversation amused fans to no end
Taiwanese singer-actress Ella Chen and her husband, businessman Alvin Lai, have been married for seven years, with a one-year-old son, nicknamed Jin Bao.
As is the case with every long-married couple, one tends to forget some things about their better half every once in a while. However, Alvin’s recent post on his Facebook sharing a conversation that Ella had with him recently had fans cracking up.
Right before they went to sleep one night, Ella had turned around to give him a kiss, before wishing him a happy birthday. However, right after that, Ella asked him, “How old are you this year?”.
“I don’t know, and I don’t really want to count,” Alvin replied, with Ella taking it upon herself to start counting.
“It's 2019 this year, you were born in 1976, if we subtract six from nine, the answer is four, so you’re 44 this year,” Ella concluded.
In disbelief, Alvin wrote, “Whilst rolling my eyes internally, I said, ‘You're unbelievable. How is nine minus six four?"
After hearing Alvin’s words, Ella realised her mistake, and broke out in laughter, saying, “Wow, you’re really old!”
Concluding his post, Alvin wrote, “That's right, I’m almost 50. So, from today, I’m declaring that March 25 no longer exists. That way, I’ll never have to celebrate another birthday! Good night!"
Alvin’s post was very well-received by fans, with many commenting that Ella felt especially relatable after reading it.
