Recently, Eason, 46, was spotted dropping off his 16-year-old daughter Constance and pics of him in his ride were soon all over the internet.
According to Hongkong reports, his wife, former actress and influencer Hilary Tsui, used to drive the HK$150,000 (S$27,000) Suzuki Hustler, which was pink but has since been repainted black. Eason inherited the ride after buying Hilary a brand new $200,000 (S$35,000) Suzuki Jimny, currently one of the “it” cars in Hongkong.
How the car used to look
The singer quickly earned praise for being a doting husband and splurging on his wife, while some netizens took the opportunity to criticise Hilary, also 46, for her baller ways.
"Eason Chan can't bear to spend money on a new car and is driving the car that his wife doesn't want," wrote one netizen. Another said: "[Their] lifestyles are so different. Hilary Tsui spends money like there is no tomorrow."
Constance and Hilary
Hilary, who runs a boutique and is also her husband's "personal image consultant", is known for her lavish spending. She was previously reported to have splashed a whopping HK$800,000 (S$140,000) in one hour during a shopping spree, which led the media to dub her the “prodigal” wife.
Eason had publicly stated in an interview once that that he doesn’t mind her shopping and she is free to spend his money however she wants.
In fact, the doting husband bought a HK$230m (S$40.3mil) mansion for Hilary on their 8th wedding anniversary.
Eason married Hilary in 2006 though she gave birth to Constance in 2004.
