Chinese historical series The Legend of Ba Qing, featuring Chinese actors Gao Yunxiang, Fan Bingbing, and Taiwanese actor Dylan Kuo, was originally slated to air on television yesterday (Apr 19).
However, Yunxiang was arrested last month in Australia on allegations of sexual assault, and the series is now held back indefinitely. In view of that, rumours broke out that the show is making adjustments to their cast members, with plans to have Dylan replace Yunxiang’s character in the show.
As Dylan was already part of the original line-up of characters, it is said that his role will be replaced by another actor when he takes over Yunxiang’s main lead position.
Dylan’s manager has since denied the rumours. “We heard the rumours, but did not receive an official notice from the producers,” he said. “We will be glad if it is true, but since there is no update, it seems that the rumours are false.”
The Legend of Ba Qing reportedly received investments amounting to RMB500 million (approximately S$100 million). Bingbing, who plays the female lead character Ba Qing in the show, is said to be one of the major investors of the show.
