Canadian-born actress Christy Chung may be 48, but she sure doesn’t look her age. Recently, the actress shared on her Facebook that she had gone on a 11-day detox trip to Koh Samui, Thailand. Sharing that her father and parents-in-law had taken part in the cleanse as well, she then went on to reveal more details.
“In the 11 days, we only drank oil, and managed to expel numerous poisons that were inside our bodies. It feels very relaxing and comfortable,” she wrote. Christy also went on to claim that a number of diseases and illnesses, ranging from diabetes, to high blood pressure and more, could be cured just by undergoing this oil cleanse. She wrote that she found it unbelievable as well, but suggested for everyone to head on over to Koh Samui to try it out for themselves.
However, her post was met with much skepticism, with one writing, “Why does it feel like the brainwashing spiel (Taiwanese actress) Annie Yi fell prey to?”. Some others also commented that “there’s no way we have so much poison in our bodies”, and that “we still need to rely on scientifically-proven methods to improve our health”.
Some also expressed their worry for Christy, speculating that the 48-year-old may have been swindled by the owners of the oil cleanse programme.
