Fans of Hong Kong singer-actress Cecilia Cheung were taken aback by reports from the Hong Kong media yesterday (November 29), alleging that the 38-year-old had given birth to her third child earlier this week.
According to the reports, Cecilia, who has largely kept a low profile this year, is currently recuperating at a top-notch, private hospital in Hong Kong, after giving birth five days ago (November 25). She reportedly gave birth to a baby boy whom she had with a 65-year-old "wealthy" Singaporean businessman who hails from the F&B industry.
In February this year, Cecilia had indeed made a post on her Instagram account, announcing her intentions to have a baby. “Before 2018 (ends), (I) need to have a baby, this is my goal,” she wrote. Whilst having a meal with her friends in July, the singer-actress also made her intentions to "give birth to a baby sister (for her sons) soon” known.
However, as there was no news with regards to Cecilia’s love life, it was largely assumed that Cecilia was merely joking when talking about wanting to give birth. These assumptions were later confirmed when Cecilia uploaded a picture of an ultrasound scan, sharing that her cat was pregnant with four kittens.
But, after the reports were published, the media spotted Cecilia’s mother at a women’s hospital. However, when approached by the media outlets for a comment, she denied that she was there to visit Cecilia, saying that she was there to “visit the sick”.
As for Cecilia’s manager, she neither confirmed nor denied the reports, and would only reply with a “no comment”.
Ex-husband Nicholas Tse expressed that he has no knowledge about her alleged pregnancy, according to Hong Kong media, replying, "I don't know" to their questions.
Cecilia and Nicholas went their separate ways in 2011 and she was last romantically linked to Taiwanese host He Meng Huai. Reports of them getting engaged in October this year was refuted by her agency. Cecilia has two sons from her marriage to Nicholas, 10-year-old Lucas and 7-year-old Quintus.
